Rem Saverem was a memberof the Proect Seeds crew and raised Vash and Millions Knives. She was a sweet, gentle soul and had a deep love for flowers and human life. One of her most famous quotes (and my favorite) is "The ticket to the future is always open!", because it's so very true. Basically, you're looking at the chick who made Vash what he is today...but not Knives, thank God.
Knives went ape-poopies and might have destroyed the entire Project Seeds if not for Rem; she gave up her life to save the frozen people. Her very last words were "Vash! Take care of Knives!" Oh, how true that will someday be. ^^
